A popular American actress from the Sixties and the tall Nancy Kovack was mainly unforgettable in the imagination of guys who were my age, for her role of Medea in the awe-inspiring action/fantasy film Jason and the Argonauts. In this production her screentime is far less than our memory, however there's no doubt that the dance number that she performed was one of the most memorable scenes. And to add to the excitement there are some who believe that Honor Blackman was cast as a Bondgirl probably because the producers wanted her voice to be subbed in a British accent. Nancy Kovack, with her stunning cheekbones and smouldering eyes could be easily recognized in films of the past. If you think about it, she seemed to be comfortable rubbing elbows in the company of Tarzan and Batman and her fellow actors, the Three Stooges. She also was seen rubbing shoulders alongside Dean Martin, Captain Kirk, Elvis Presley, Vincent Price or Dean Martin. What was it that was what made Nancy Kovack so special? Her characters' solid determination? Just her stunning figure? Nancy admitted that, in some way she never hoped to become a film actor. She preferred roles as a supporting actor. But she has a 15-year history that is full of surprises, treasures, and delights.
